The case of mangrove forest destruction in Kwala Serapuh Village, Langkat Regency, reflects the weakness of environmental law enforcement in Indonesia despite the existence of a strong legal framework. This study aims to analyze the delays and injustices in law enforcement related to mangrove destruction and to identify institutional and political factors contributing to the problem. This research employs a normative juridical method with a case study approach focusing on the implementation of Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management. The analysis reveals a significant gap between law in books and law in action due to weak inter-agency coordination, ineffective sanctions, and the dominance of economic interests over ecological protection. As a result, coastal communities have become the most affected and have lost their legal protection. The study concludes that institutional reform, stronger enforcement mechanisms, and enhanced community participation are urgently needed for environmental restoration. It recommends a stronger political commitment to prioritize ecological justice as a fundamental principle of sustainable development in Indonesia.

This study aims to comprehensively examine the meanings and dynamics of the interpretation of the concepts of Qiwamah and Nusyuz through the approach of Tafsir bi al-Ra’yi within the framework of the Qur’anic ayat al-ahkam. The primary focus of this research lies in exploring the role of rational and contextual interpretative methods in constructing a more just and relevant understanding of husband–wife relations within Islamic family law. This research employs a qualitative approach using thematic (maudhu’i) Qur’anic exegesis analysis and library research, complemented by in-depth interviews with Qur’anic exegesis scholars and academics in the field of Islamic law. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Tafsir bi al-Ra’yi provides a space for more contextual reinterpretations of the Qur’anic verses on Qiwamah and Nusyuz by considering the principles of justice, equality, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. This interpretative approach rejects narrow textualism and emphasizes social harmony and balanced roles within family life. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of contextual exegesis paradigms in the study of ayat al-ahkam, while practically it offers implications for the reformulation of Islamic family law that is responsive to gender justice issues and contemporary social transformations.

This research seeks to examine the shortcomings in insurance investment governance at PT Jiwasraya from the viewpoint of economic law. The case involves a series of notable irregularities and breaches. As a result, the study centers on uncovering the repercussions stemming from PT Jiwasraya's mismanagement of insurance investments, as well as identifying the relevant laws and provisions associated with the incident. The methodology applied is the Normative Juridical Research Method, employing both a case-approach and a statute-approach.. This research successfully identifies various instances of deviations and misconduct committed by PT Jiwasraya in its insurance investment governance, alongside the applicable statutory regulations and relevant articles concerning the case.

This study aims to analyze the reasons why the trade in protected wildlife can be classified as an environmental crime, the forms of legal liability imposed on offenders within the Indonesian environmental law system, and the role of environmental law enforcement in preventing the extinction of protected species. This research employs a normative juridical method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through library research by examining statutory regulations, legal literature, textbooks, and relevant scholarly journal articles related to the conservation of biological natural resources and environmental crimes. The findings indicate that the trade in protected wildlife constitutes not merely an ordinary criminal offense, but an environmental crime that causes serious ecological impacts, including ecosystem degradation, loss of biodiversity, and threats to species extinction. Legal liability for offenders may be imposed through administrative, criminal, and civil sanctions cumulatively. The study also finds that the effectiveness of environmental law enforcement plays a crucial role in protecting wildlife, although in practice it still faces various challenges, such as weak deterrent effects and low public legal awareness. This study is expected to strengthen the environmental law perspective in addressing protected wildlife trade and to serve as a reference for the development of more comprehensive and sustainable policies and law enforcement strategies.

Research examines the issue of unionization and procedure for layoffs in the context of employment in Indonesia with a normative-empris approach. The normative approach was carried out with relevant legal regulations, especially Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning labor and Law No. 21 of 2000 concerning serikat work. The empirical approach was carried out with the analysis of the regulatory implementation terhadp, a real case of layoffs to CNN workers Indonesia, By conducting a review of the field facts, the chronology of the events and the relevant parties. The results of the analysis revealed that the large number of industries in Indonesia need to be balanced with strong and protective labor policies, the government's steps not only focus on creating new jobs but also on preventing layoffs through social pungguatan dialaog. The increase in labor competence and the establishment of healthy industrial relations climate, CNN Indonesia's Case shows the urgency of a more responsive and relevant industrial relations system for workers’ basic rights protection. The findings of this study concluded that the gap between regulations and field practice is still a big problem in the employment world in Idonesia, struktual Reform is needed to minimize the practice of labor unions and realize fair, sustainable and in accordance with the principles of modern labor law.

This study aims to conduct a legal analysis of the tolerance toward deforestation and land conversion into oil palm plantations that has triggered flash floods in Sumatra, as well as to examine the legal responsibilities of the government and corporations for the resulting ecological damage. The research addresses the contribution of deforestation to flash flood disasters, the legal provisions violated, and the mechanisms of legal accountability that may be applied. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory, conceptual, and analytical approaches, supported by secondary data derived from legislation, legal doctrines, scientific studies, and official environmental and forestry reports. The findings reveal that the tolerance of deforestation and the expansion of oil palm plantations have violated the Environmental Protection and Management Act, the Forestry Act, and the Plantation Act, and have significantly degraded the ecological function of forests as natural regulators of water systems. The impact of this research emphasizes that both governmental authorities and corporate actors may be held administratively, civilly, and criminally liable, and highlights the importance of environmental recovery efforts and sustainable prevention strategies to reduce the risk of future flash floods.

This article examines the Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) approach to interpreting the Qur'an through an in-depth study of the methodology and characteristics of the interpretation contained in Al-Qurtubi's monumental work, Al-Jami` li Ahkam al-Quran. The study focuses on how Al-Qurtubi combines Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) with Islamic exegesis (tafsir) to explain Qur'anic verses related to sharia laws in a detailed and structured manner. The method used in this interpretation emphasizes understanding the legal context, Islamic jurisprudence principles, and the integration of evidence from the Qur'an, hadith, and the opinions of previous scholars. The results of the study indicate that Al-Qurtubi's interpretation has systematic and comprehensive characteristics in explaining Islamic law, thus becoming a primary reference for scholars and researchers in the fields of interpretation and fiqh. This study also highlights the contribution of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) interpretation in enriching the understanding of the Qur'anic text, especially in the context of the application of Islamic law.

This article examines the Constitutional Court’s authority in adjudicating structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) electoral violations in Indonesia’s 2019 and 2024 presidential elections. Using a normative legal and comparative approach, it evaluates the Court’s application of the judicial restraint principle and its limitations when violations do not quantitatively affect election results but may undermine electoral legitimacy. Findings reveal that the Court consistently rejects examining TSM allegations without evidence of direct impact on vote counts. However, in cases involving ethical and constitutional violations, this approach may fall short in ensuring substantive electoral justice. A comparative study with five other countries shows that several constitutional courts have adopted a more progressive role in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process. The article recommends strengthening constitutional interpretation and reforming the legal framework to enable Indonesia’s Constitutional Court to act as a guardian of both electoral outcomes and democratic fairness.

Tafsir bi Isyari is a method of interpreting the Qur'an that emphasizes the inner meaning (batin) and hidden meaning, which differs from the outer meaning (zahir) that is textual. This method is grounded in Hadith (Prophetic tradition) which states that the Qur'an possesses both an outer and inner meaning, and is revealed based on special guidance and inspiration for its experts. This paper comprehensively examines the definition of Tafsir Isyari, the different views of scholars regarding the legality and conditions for accepting Tafsir Isyari, as well as its strengths and weaknesses. The research also presents concrete examples of Qur'anic verses that command in an isyari (allusive/allusional) manner as a form of application of this method. The results of the study indicate that Tafsir Isyari can provide a deep and spiritual understanding, but it must be kept within the principles of Tafsir (exegesis) so that it does not lead to subjectivity and deviation. Therefore, this interpretation holds an important position in the treasury of Tafsir, provided that it is carried out in accordance with scholarly and Sharia principles.

The rapid development of digital platforms has intensified the collection and processing of users’ personal data, thereby increasing the risk of privacy violations when data management practices are not aligned with applicable legal provisions. This study aims to analyze the compliance of personal data management practices on digital platforms with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law Number 27 of 2022). This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a documentation study approach. Data were obtained through an analysis of privacy policies, terms and conditions of service, and official documents related to personal data management published by digital platforms, which were subsequently examined in reference to the provisions and principles stipulated in the Personal Data Protection Law. The findings indicate that transparency in personal data management generally complies with the legal requirements, particularly regarding the disclosure of data types and processing purposes. However, several aspects, including consent for data processing, data security and confidentiality, purpose limitation and data retention, as well as the fulfillment of data subject rights, remain only partially compliant. These results demonstrate that the implementation of personal data protection on digital platforms still requires stronger regulatory compliance and more comprehensive protection mechanisms. This study is expected to contribute to the evaluation and improvement of legal compliance and governance of personal data management within digital platforms

The oral tradition of Jambi customary proverbs embodies patterns of customary law that reflect character values relevant to the Pancasila Student Profile. This study aims to describe the patterns of customary law (communality, deliberation/consensus, traditional, visual) in Jambi customary proverbs and link them to the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. Employing a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and content analysis, this research analyzes 12 documented examples of Jambi seloko/proverbs. Data were collected through document studies and analyzed using a modified Mayring procedure. Data validity was ensured through source and theory triangulation. The findings indicate that: (1) the communality pattern is closely related to the dimensions of mutual cooperation and independence; (2) the deliberation/consensus pattern supports the dimensions of critical reasoning, mutual cooperation, and global diversity; (3) the traditional pattern bolsters the dimensions of faith, piety, noble character, and global diversity; (4) the visual pattern strengthens the dimensions of creativity and critical reasoning. These findings demonstrate that Jambi customary proverbs can be integrated into learning and Profil Pelajar Pancasila strengthening projects (P5) through the design of intracurricular, cocurricular activities, and projects that utilize proverbs as teaching materials and media for value reflection. Research implications include the development of teaching materials, culturally grounded P5 project designs, and teacher training in utilizing oral traditions for character education based on the Merdeka Curriculum.

Corporate sentencing in corruption crimes in Indonesia continues to encounter both normative and implementation barriers, particularly in imposing criminal liability on state-owned enterprises such as PT Pertamina (Persero). This study aims to examine the normative weaknesses of Article 2 of the Anti-Corruption Law and assess the scope of corporate criminal liability in the context of crude oil and refinery product governance. The research employs a normative juridical method through a statutory approach, conceptual approach, and case approach to interpret relevant legal norms without relying on empirical data. The findings indicate that although corporations have been formally recognized as subjects of criminal law, the legal framework governing corporate mens rea and the standards for proving organizational fault remain insufficiently defined. The absence of clear obligations regarding internal control systems and compliance programs within state-owned enterprises further increases the risk of governance irregularities. This study proposes a normative reconstruction through strengthening the concept of corporate mens rea, establishing binding compliance standards, and clarifying corporate sentencing mechanisms within the Anti-Corruption Law. These reforms are essential for enhancing the effectiveness of corruption eradication and safeguarding state financial interests.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of environmental law within the framework of regional development policies in Sumatra Island, specifically in mitigating ecological disaster risks. Sumatra faces a dual challenge of accelerated infrastructure development and high vulnerability to disasters. The research method employed is juridical-normative with a statutory and case study approach, supported by a systematic literature review of secondary data regarding spatial planning and disaster mitigation policies. The results indicate that although legal instruments such as Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (KLHS) are regulated, their implementation is often neglected for short-term investment interests, especially after the enactment of the Job Creation Law. There is a significant gap between national green-oriented planning and the reality of regional planning (RTRW/RPJMD) in Sumatra, where planning documents have not fully adopted low-carbon development principles. The impact of this research recommends the need for harmonization of central and regional regulations and strengthening of administrative law enforcement based on political ecology to ensure sustainable and disaster-resilient development.
