Perancangan Sistem Informasi Penerimaan Siswa Baru (PSB) Dengan Menggunakan Metode SDLC (Study Kasus: SMKN 10 Merangin)

Prosedur Penerimaan Siswa Baru (PSB) merupakan agenda akademik penting yang berlangsung pada awal setiap tahun ajaran di sekolah. Komputer dan teknologi informasi memegang peranan krusial dalam proses ini. Kemajuan teknologi informasi telah membuat pemrosesan data dan pendaftaran menjadi lebih sederhana dan cepat, sehingga memungkinkan pengumpulan serta penyimpanan informasi calon siswa secara efisien. Institusi pendidikan dapat mengumpulkan data pendaftaran termasuk data pribadi, formulir daring, dan dokumen pendukung secara elektronik menggunakan sistem informasi PSB berbasis komputer. Namun, SMKN 10 Merangin, yang berlokasi di Desa Rejosari, Kecamatan Pamenang, Kabupaten Merangin, Provinsi Jambi, masih menghadapi kendala dalam pemanfaatan teknologi akibat metode penerimaan siswa baru yang masih bersifat konvensional, meskipun teknologi telah banyak diterapkan dalam operasional sekolah lainnya. Situasi ini menimbulkan sejumlah permasalahan bagi pihak sekolah. Oleh karena itu, proyek ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem baru berbasis web guna mengelola proses penerimaan siswa di SMKN 10 Merangin. Penelitian ini menggunakan model waterfall dalam System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), yang mencakup tahapan analisis, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Hasil akhirnya adalah sebuah sistem yang memudahkan siswa dan orang tua untuk melakukan pendaftaran secara daring, menyederhanakan administrasi data sekolah, serta mempermudah pemantauan hasil proses penerimaan.

Schools are institutions where one of the academic activities in this school every time the new school year approaches is of course the new student admission process (PSB). In the New Student Admission process (PSB), computers and information technology are very important. Currently, information technology helps the registration process and PSB data processing become easier and more efficient, collecting and storing information about prospective new students more effectively. A computer-based PSB information system allows educational institutions to collect registration information electronically, including supporting documents, online registration forms, and personal data of prospective students. On the other hand, SMKN 10 Merangin on JL. is among the most technologically advanced schools in the area. There are still some technological roadblocks in the new student admission procedure (PSB) in Lintas Sumatera, Rejosari Village, Pamenang District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The school faces several challenges as a result of this. In light of these issues, this research aims to provide SMKN 10 Merangin with a website-based PSB that can streamline the admissions process for new students. Analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance are the phases that make up the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model, which is used in this study. Prospective students and their parents will find it much simpler to access the announcement of admission selection results, and the school will have an easier time managing data related to new student admissions thanks to the website that was created.
