Web-Based Cashier System Design Using the Waterfall Method (Case Study: Patih Cell)
Patih Cell, a phone-accessory kiosk located in Guguk Village of Merangin Regency, still writes down its sales by hand, a habit shared by many small businesses. Four difficulties arise from this: stock counts rarely match the records on a near-monthly basis, compiling daily sales figures is slow, the handwritten receipts vary in layout, and the owner lacks a quick overview of shop performance. This research responds by designing and building a web-based point-of-sale application to settle those four difficulties. Development followed the Waterfall model across five ordered phases: analysing needs, designing, coding, testing, and maintaining. The technology stack combines native PHP 8.x with the PDO library, a MySQL data store, and HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for the front end, deployed on an online hosting platform with seven linked database tables and eleven working modules. Black box Testing across 55 scenarios in every module reached a perfect 100% pass rate, whereas user acceptance evaluation with two participants yielded 94%, rated Very Feasible. The application demonstrably curbs stock discrepancies through automatic deduction, cuts the time needed to recap sales, prints uniform receipts, and delivers an instant performance summary for the owner.
Implementation of the Waterfall Method in Website Design as a Digital Promotion Media CV. Prima Printing

Operating out of Bangko, CV. Prima Printing is a digital-printing enterprise that until now has promoted its services mainly through social-media pages and word-of-mouth referrals, while every order it receives is still logged by hand, an approach that invites recording errors and slows the whole workflow. As a result, product and service details are not consistently documented, which in turn narrows the firm’s market reach. This study sets out to build a promotional website for CV. Prima Printing by following the stages of the Waterfall model, namely requirement gathering, system design, coding, testing, and post-release maintenance. The platform runs on native PHP together with a MySQL database and is hosted through Hostinger. Core capabilities include a database-backed product catalog, guest-checkout ordering that skips account registration, design-file uploads, automatic cost estimates, self-service order tracking, down-payment confirmation, a buyer-seller chat feature, visitor ratings of the site, and a two-tier control panel for admin and super-admin roles. Safeguards such as upload validation, password hashing, and protection against SQL injection were also built in. Functional testing under the black-box approach covered 19 modules across 66 scenarios, all of which passed without a single failure. The resulting website is expected to give CV. Prima Printing an effective digital promotional channel that presents complete product information, streamlines ordering, and widens its market reach.

PKBM Terpadu ADS Tunas Mulia di Kelurahan Pematang Kandis masih menggunakan pencatatan manual dan dokumen sederhana dalam pelayanan pendaftaran peserta didik. Kondisi tersebut menyulitkan pengelolaan data, pemeriksaan berkas, dan penyampaian status pendaftaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sistem informasi pendaftaran berbasis web menggunakan PHP Native dan MySQL. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi proses pendaftaran, wawancara dengan kepala PKBM dan staf administrasi, serta dokumentasi formulir dan daftar siswa. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan pendekatan Waterfall dengan pemodelan Unified Modeling Language, sedangkan Black Box Testing ditetapkan sebagai pendekatan pengujian fungsional. Hasil yang terdokumentasi meliputi rancangan alur pendaftaran dan verifikasi, struktur basis data, serta antarmuka formulir pendaftaran, dashboard administrator, pengumuman, dan pengecekan status berdasarkan NIK. Sistem memisahkan layanan calon siswa dan pengelolaan administrator serta menyediakan tampilan bukti pendaftaran. Hasil ini menunjukkan tersusunnya layanan pendaftaran dalam satu sistem. Namun, catatan hasil uji per skenario dan pengukuran efisiensi belum tersedia, sehingga keberhasilan seluruh fungsi dan besarnya peningkatan kinerja belum dapat disimpulkan.
Analisis dan Perancangan Aplikasi Ekstraktor Koordinat Gambar Berbasis Web untuk Efisiensi Pendataan Lokasi di PT. PLN (Persero)

Proses pendataan koordinat lokasi dari foto lapangan yang diambil menggunakan aplikasi timestamp camera masih banyak dilakukan secara manual, yaitu dengan menyalin ulang data koordinat pada gambar ke dalam perangkat lunak spreadsheet. Proses ini tidak efisien dari segi waktu dan rentan terhadap kesalahan manusia (human error), khususnya pada instansi yang menangani ratusan hingga ribuan foto lapangan seperti PT. PLN (Persero). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aplikasi ekstraktor koordinat gambar berbasis web yang dapat mengotomatisasi proses tersebut. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan adalah Prototype, dengan memanfaatkan Tesseract.js sebagai mesin Optical Character Recognition (OCR) untuk mengenali teks pada gambar dan Regular Expression (Regex) untuk memvalidasi serta mengekstrak nilai koordinat latitude dan longitude secara presisi. Aplikasi dirancang sepenuhnya berjalan di sisi klien (client-side) tanpa basis data maupun autentikasi, sehingga ringan dan mudah digunakan. Data koordinat yang telah tervalidasi dapat diekspor ke dalam format CSV yang siap diimpor ke Google MyMaps. Pengujian black box terhadap 20 sampel foto lapangan menunjukkan tingkat akurasi ekstraksi sebesar 90% dengan rata-rata waktu pemrosesan kurang dari 0,25 detik per gambar. Kegagalan ekstraksi pada 10% sampel disebabkan oleh kualitas gambar yang buram dan resolusi rendah. Aplikasi ini terbukti mampu memangkas waktu pendataan koordinat secara signifikan serta menekan risiko kesalahan input dibandingkan proses manual.
Design of a Web-Based Student Attendance and Monitoring Information System at SMK Negeri 3 Merangin

The development of information technology has provided convenience in data management across various fields, including education. At SMK Negeri 3 Merangin, the student attendance and attendance monitoring processes still face several challenges, such as delays in recording attendance, data entry errors, and difficulties in preparing attendance reports. Therefore, an information system is needed to support the student attendance and attendance monitoring processes effectively, efficiently, and in an integrated manner. This research aims to design and develop a Web-Based Student Attendance and Attendance Monitoring Information System at SMK Negeri 3 Merangin. The system development method used is the Prototype method, which allows users to be directly involved in the development process through initial system design, evaluation, and refinement until a system that meets user requirements is produced. The system was developed using PHP programming language, MySQL database, and QR Code technology as a medium for student attendance. The system provides four user access levels, namely Admin, Teacher, Homeroom Teacher, and Parent/Guardian. The main features of the system include teacher data management, student data management, user management, school profile management, QR Code-based attendance, input of sick/permission/absence data, monitoring of students who have not attended, attendance time settings, attendance recapitulation, monthly attendance reports, attendance percentage, and the delivery of attendance information to parents or guardians. The results of the research show that the developed system can help reduce errors in attendance recording and facilitate Admins, Teachers, and Homeroom Teachers in managing and monitoring student attendance data. Parents or guardians can also obtain student attendance information through the system. The attendance recording process becomes faster, more accurate, and integrated, while attendance reports can be generated automatically. Based on the results of testing using the Black Box Testing method, all system functions operate according to user requirements, indicating that the system is feasible for implementation at SMK Negeri 3 Merangin.

Pengelolaan stok obat yang efektif merupakan faktor krusial dalam operasional fasilitas pelayanan kefarmasian. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pada sistem pencatatan stok obat di Apotek Hidayah, khususnya untuk kebutuhan praktik dr. Eka Siloe, Sp.THT.KL, yang masih bersifat semi-manual menggunakan buku besar dan lembar arsip. Metode manual tersebut rentan terhadap risiko human error, inefisiensi waktu dalam pencarian data sisa stok maupun masa kedaluwarsa, serta keterlambatan dalam penyusunan laporan rekapitulasi bulanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengimplementasikan Sistem Informasi Stok Obat berbasis web yang terintegrasi dengan basis data terpusat menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD), yang meliputi empat tahapan utama, yaitu requirement planning, user design, construction, dan cutover/deployment. Aplikasi dibangun menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP, basis data MySQL, serta alat bantu perancangan UML dan diagram alir (flowchart). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian dan pengujian berbasis black box testing menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi ini berhasil meminimalkan kesalahan pencatatan, mempercepat pencarian data, serta mengotomatisasi perhitungan transaksi dan rekapitulasi laporan. Dengan adanya fitur pemotongan stok otomatis secara real-time dan pengingat stok menipis/kedaluwarsa, sistem ini terbukti meningkatkan efisiensi, akurasi, dan transparansi dalam pengelolaan stok obat di Apotek Hidayah.

APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN DETERMINING STUDENT SATISFACTION LEVEL: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF MACHINE LEARNING MODELS IN HIGHER EDUCATION ACADEMIC SERVICES

Student satisfaction is a strategic indicator for evaluating the quality of higher education services; however, conventional measurement through questionnaire surveys has limitations in terms of scalability, objectivity, and analytical speed. This study aims to examine the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly machine learning algorithms, in predicting and determining student satisfaction levels toward academic services in higher education institutions. The research employs a quantitative approach with a comparative study design involving four classification algorithms—Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes, and Artificial Neural Network (ANN)—applied to satisfaction survey data from 452 active student respondents. The data were processed through preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, and 10-fold cross validation stages. The results show that the Random Forest model achieved the highest accuracy at 91.4%, followed by ANN at 89.7%, SVM at 87.2%, and Naïve Bayes at 83.5%. Feature importance analysis revealed that lecturer quality, administrative service speed, and digital learning facilities were the most dominant factors influencing student satisfaction. This study concludes that the application of AI can improve the accuracy, efficiency, and objectivity of measuring student satisfaction compared to conventional methods, and can serve as a foundation for data-driven decision making by higher education management in formulating service quality improvement policies.
Design of a Web-Based Sales Information System Using the Laravel Framework for PT Surya Sentosa Dealership, Sarolangun Regency
Vehicle information and ordering services at PT Surya Sentosa in Sarolangun Regency rely on brochures and direct communication, while initial Vehicle Order Letter (SPK) data are recorded manually and service appointments are arranged through WhatsApp. This study aims to design and develop a web-based sales information system that integrates vehicle information, SPK submissions, and customer services. Data were collected through observation, an interview with the branch manager, and document analysis. Development followed the Waterfall model using Unified Modeling Language, Laravel 12, and MySQL, with black-box functional testing. The system provides public, customer, administrator, and manager areas supporting vehicle catalogs, variant-specific financing packages, quotation requests, test drives, SPK revisions, recorded leasing survey results, purchase guarantee payments, managerial decisions, signed document delivery, and service bookings. The database contains 26 application tables and one migration table. All 26 test scenarios produced the expected outputs. These findings indicate functional conformity within the tested prototype; service time improvements, user satisfaction, and usability have not been measured. Purchase guarantee payments and leasing survey results still require manual verification or recording. Further development should include user evaluation and operational deployment.

Program Studi Sistem Informasi Universitas Merangin belum memiliki media informasi berbasis web yang dapat menyajikan informasi secara lengkap, terstruktur, dan mudah diakses oleh mahasiswa maupun masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun Sistem Informasi Profil Program Studi Sistem Informasi Universitas Merangin berbasis web, menerapkan metode Waterfall dalam proses pengembangannya, serta menghasilkan sistem yang mampu menyajikan informasi secara efektif dan efisien. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Waterfall yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan pengujian sistem menggunakan metode Black Box Testing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dibangun berhasil menyediakan berbagai informasi penting mengenai program studi, seperti profil, visi dan misi, kurikulum, data dosen, berita, pengumuman, agenda, galeri, dan dokumen pendukung lainnya. Selain itu, sistem dilengkapi dengan halaman administrasi yang memudahkan pengelolaan dan pembaruan data secara terpusat. Dengan adanya sistem ini, penyampaian informasi Program Studi Sistem Informasi Universitas Merangin menjadi lebih efektif, efisien, mudah diakses, serta mampu meningkatkan kualitas layanan informasi kepada pengguna.
Evaluasi Kesiapan Keamanan Informasi Dinas Sosial
Information security is essential for ensuring service continuity and data protection within Electronic System Providers (ESPs). This study evaluates the information security readiness of Dinas Sosial GHI using the KAMI Index Version 5.0 based on SNI ISO/IEC 27001:2022. A descriptive-evaluative method was applied through interviews and document observations. The assessment covered governance, risk management, security framework, asset management, information security technology, personal data protection, and third-party involvement. The results show that the Electronic System Category obtained a score of 21, classified as High, while the overall information security completeness score was 170, categorized as Not Feasible, with a maturity level of I–I+. The respective scores were governance 18, risk management 4, security framework 37, asset management 52, technology 24, and personal data protection 35. Third-party security achieved 10%. These findings indicate the need for structured improvements in risk management, security policies, technology, personal data protection, and third-party security.

Correspondence management at the Sepantai Renah Village Office, Merangin Regency, was previously conducted manually using logbooks and physical document storage. This practice posed challenges in recording correspondence, retrieving archives, routing correspondence, monitoring correspondence activities, and preparing reports. This study aimed to analyze existing archiving procedures and to design and implement a web-based correspondence archive management information system equipped with a Real-Time Monitoring Dashboard. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and a literature review. The system was developed using the Waterfall model, comprising requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built using PHP, MySQL, and XAMPP. The resulting system supports the management of incoming and outgoing correspondence, archives, correspondence routing, searching, monitoring, and reporting. It also provides role-based access for the Administrator, Village Secretary, and Village Head. Black-box testing of the main functions showed that all documented test scenarios passed, with the tested functions performing as expected. This implementation transformed correspondence administration from manual recording and physical document storage into integrated web-based management, making correspondence information easier to manage, retrieve, monitor, and report.

Transformasi digital mendorong pelaku usaha untuk memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dalam meningkatkan efektivitas proses penjualan dan pelayanan pelanggan. Toko Yuya merupakan usaha yang bergerak pada penjualan fashion wanita yang dalam kegiatan penjualannya masih memanfaatkan media sosial dan komunikasi pesan secara manual. Kondisi tersebut menimbulkan kendala berupa pencatatan pesanan yang kurang terstruktur, keterlambatan respons, kesulitan memperoleh informasi produk dan stok, serta proses pemantauan pesanan yang belum terintegrasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengembangkan sistem e-commerce berbasis web yang dapat mendukung proses promosi, pemesanan, pembayaran, pengelolaan produk, serta pelaporan penjualan pada Toko Yuya. Metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yang digunakan adalah Waterfall dengan tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan PHP, MySQL, dan Bootstrap serta dimodelkan menggunakan UML. Hasil penelitian berupa sistem e-commerce yang menyediakan katalog produk, keranjang belanja, checkout, konfirmasi pembayaran, riwayat transaksi, pemantauan status pesanan, serta dashboard pengelolaan bagi admin. Pengujian Black Box terhadap 11 fungsi utama menunjukkan seluruh fungsi berhasil dijalankan sesuai skenario pengujian dengan tingkat keberhasilan 100%.

Penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan dan penerapan sistem e-commerce dengan model Business to Customer (B2C) menggunakan metode Spiral pada Toko Roti Ani Hanim Persijam Jambi. Permasalahan berasal dari proses penjualan konvensional, promosi dari mulut ke mulut, pemesanan melalui komunikasi sederhana, dan pencatatan transaksi secara manual. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Pengembangan dilakukan secara iteratif melalui planning, risk analysis, engineering, dan evaluation. Sistem menggunakan PHP dan MySQL dengan XAMPP, Visual Studio Code, Bootstrap, dan browser. Fitur utama meliputi katalog produk, registrasi dan login, keranjang belanja, checkout, pengelolaan produk, pengelolaan transaksi, dan laporan penjualan. Perancangan menggunakan UML dan basis data terdiri dari tabel admin, pelanggan, produk, transaksi, serta detail transaksi. Pengujian Black Box menunjukkan seluruh skenario yang terdokumentasi berstatus valid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sistem membantu memperluas media promosi, mempermudah pemesanan, menyimpan transaksi secara terstruktur, dan membantu admin mengelola penjualan lebih efektif dibandingkan proses manual.
