WEB-BASED ONLINE CATERING ORDERING INFORMATION SYSTEM AT LUBUK JAYA RESTAURANT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Lubuk Jaya Restaurant is a culinary business that provides catering services for various events, including family gatherings, office activities, and other occasions. The catering ordering process, which is still carried out manually through telephone calls or text messages, often results in delays in order recording, information inaccuracies, and inefficient management of customer and transaction data. This study aims to design and develop a web-based online catering ordering information system for Lubuk Jaya Restaurant to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and convenience of the ordering process. The system was developed using the Waterfall software development methodology, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was built using the Laravel framework with PHP programming language and MySQL database. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that each system function operates according to the specified user requirements. The results of this study indicate that the developed information system enables customers to place catering orders online, browse available menus, confirm payments, and monitor order status efficiently. Furthermore, the system assists Lubuk Jaya Restaurant in managing menu data, customer information, order transactions, and report generation in a more organized and effective manner. Based on the Black Box Testing results, all major system functionalities operated as expected, indicating that the system is feasible to be implemented as a web-based catering ordering service.
