Abstract
This research was motivated by the fact that the process of managing and summarizing student attendance at MTsN 5 Merangin was still being performed manually; this was time-consuming, prone to recording errors, and made it difficult for teachers and homeroom teachers to monitor student attendance. The study aimed to design and develop a web-based online attendance information system utilizing Quick Response (QR) codes to streamline the recording, management, monitoring, and summarization of student attendance at MTsN 5 Merangin. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. System development followed the Waterfall method, comprising requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built using PHP and MySQL database, implementing a unique QR code for each student. It features three user access levels: Admin/Administrative Staff, Teacher/Homeroom Teacher, and Student. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing. The results indicate that the system was successfully designed and operated correctly without functional errors, accelerating the process of managing and summarizing attendance data.
