Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines outline the essential requirements for manuscript submission to Research in Humanistic Futures of Education (RHFE) . Authors are expected to ensure that their manuscripts comply with the journal’s academic, technical, ethical, and editorial standards before submission.

1 Originality The manuscript must be an original scholarly work, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal, conference proceeding, publisher, or publication platform.
2 Focus and Scope The manuscript must present empirical research, conceptual analysis, literature-based studies, systematic reviews, case studies, or innovative educational practices relevant to education, humanistic learning, educational innovation, inclusive education, curriculum, teaching, educational technology, leadership, assessment, policy, or the futures of education .
3 Language Manuscripts may be written in standard English or Indonesian. Authors must use clear, accurate, coherent, and academically appropriate language. Manuscripts written in English should undergo careful language editing before submission.
4 Journal Template The manuscript must strictly follow the journal’s formatting standards, article structure, typography, citation format, and technical requirements provided in the RHFE Journal Template .
5 Article Structure Research articles should generally include the title, author information, abstract, keywords, introduction, research method, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements where applicable, author contribution statement, conflict of interest declaration, and references.
6 Title and Abstract The title must be concise, informative, and relevant to the study. The abstract should clearly summarize the research background, objective, method, major findings, and conclusion. Authors must also provide relevant keywords that represent the main concepts of the article.
7 Research Method The research method must be described clearly and sufficiently to allow readers to understand the research design, participants or data sources, instruments, data-collection procedures, analytical techniques, and ethical considerations.
8 Tables and Figures Tables, figures, charts, photographs, and illustrations must be relevant, clearly numbered, appropriately titled, cited in the manuscript, and accompanied by source information where required. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material.
9 References Citations and references must be prepared consistently using Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or compatible reference-management software. Authors must follow the citation style specified in the RHFE article template and verify the accuracy of every bibliographic entry.
10 Source Quality Authors should prioritize current, relevant, and credible scholarly sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, official reports, and primary research sources. References must directly support the arguments and findings presented in the manuscript.
11 Plagiarism Each manuscript may undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin or another relevant similarity detection tool. The maximum permitted Similarity Index is 30%. The Editorial Team will also evaluate the source, context, and distribution of the identified similarities.
12 AI-Assisted Content The use of AI-generated or AI-assisted content is limited to a maximum of 20% of the complete manuscript. Authors must disclose the AI tool used and its specific purpose. Human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, analysis, citations, ethical integrity, and final content of the manuscript.
13 Research Ethics Research involving students, teachers, children, vulnerable groups, personal data, or sensitive educational information must comply with applicable ethical standards. Authors must obtain informed consent and ethical approval where required.
14 Author Information Authors must provide complete names, institutional affiliations, valid email addresses, and ORCID identifiers where available. One author must be designated as the corresponding author.
15 Author Contributions Each listed author must have made a substantial contribution to the research or manuscript. Authors should clearly state their respective roles in conceptualization, methodology, data collection, analysis, writing, reviewing, supervision, or project administration.
16 Conflict of Interest Authors must disclose financial, institutional, professional, personal, or academic interests that could influence the research, interpretation of findings, or publication process.
17 Publication Ethics The manuscript must be free from plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, unethical research practices, and other forms of publication misconduct.
PRE-SUBMISSION CHECKLIST
✓ The manuscript is original and is not under review elsewhere.
✓ The manuscript follows the RHFE template and focus and scope.
✓ All references, quotations, tables, figures, and sources have been checked and properly cited.
✓ Ethical approval, informed consent, conflict-of-interest statements, and AI-use disclosures have been included where applicable.
Important Note
Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors for technical revision or rejected by the Editorial Team before entering the peer-review process. Compliance with the guidelines does not guarantee acceptance, as all manuscripts remain subject to editorial assessment and double-blind peer review.
