Efektivitas Organik Priming dengan Ekstrak Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) terhadap Perkecambahan Cabai Merah Kerinci

Abstract

Kerinci red chili has good quality with a distinctive spicy taste. One of the main challenges in cultivating Kerinci red chili is related to inconsistent seed germination success, especially in less supportive environmental conditions. Priming is one method to increase the viability and vigor of seeds that have declined, one of which is organic priming using natural ingredients such as plant extracts that have high phytohormone content such as moringa leaf extract. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera L.) on the germination of Kerinci red chili. This type of research is experimental, using a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. As a treatment consisting of 5 concentrations of moringa leaf extract solution, namely: control 3%, 6%, 9%, and 12%. Data analysis was carried out using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). If there is a significant effect, it will be continued with the DNMRT test at the 5% level. The parameters observed include, germination power, maximum growth potential, germination simultaneity, vigor index. The results showed that moringa leaf extract significantly affected the germination of Kerinci red chili. Moringa leaf extract with a concentration of 3% significantly affected the germination power and a concentration of 12% moringa leaf extract significantly increased the maximum growth potential, germination simultaneity and vigor index in Kerinci red chili.
